``VOTE FOR JANE GEORGE FOR KNOXVILLE CITY COUNCIL DISTRICT 4
I was born and raised in Knoxville, went to Bearden High School where I cheered, lead the student government, ran in the Junior Olympics and sang and danced on the stage in our incredible theatre program. I was the Southeastern representative for “Childrens International Summer Village” at 14 and wrote the theme song for “The International Year of the Child”. In other words, I have been at this for a long time. I attended UT as a Grace Moore Scholar until I started to book work and left to go on the road as an actress and performer. Next stop: Hollywood. I raised my children in Los Angeles and continued my career until I became involved in childbirth work. Much of my time in that world was spent at Cedars Sinai where my love of medicine and research started. I decided that I wanted to become an OB/GYN physician and began on a an academic path that culminated with a graduate degree in Ecology from UCLA and a Doctorate in Chiropractic. I continue my creative adventures as a producer of short videos, writer of songs and singer of jazz and stories.
I currently serve on the board of the Knoxville Museum of Art Guild and PJ Parkinsons Support Foundation where I also present talks on Compromised Gut Health in the Parkinsons patient. I practice Functional Medicine and Chiropractic and have patients across the country. Clean air and water and accesible quality food are really important in a community that is thriving for ALL OF ITS CITIZENS! I try to remember every day to practice gratitude to the trees that are continuously creating oxygen for us to breathe. WE do indeed live in one of the best kept secrets in the nation. I want to make it even better, even more sustainable and more self reliant for those of us already here..
LET’S GROW TOGETHER !

As most of you know, this is not my first rodeo. I have been running a race in one form or another to represent our communities for the past 5 years. This has afforded me so many opportunities to connect with constituents. It has required me to dig into the history and laws of how government works at the federal, state and local levels when it comes to issues. AND it has been a process of getting to know my neighbors .
I also had a business in the Old City for 7 years. I was involved with Old City Knox, hosted Dolly Karaoke and created the Tiny Stoop for local artists to jam on. Neighbors would stop and sit and chat in the Tiny Living room. I was part of the Long table events and lived through the construction of new sidewalks and road restoration. I understand the challenges facing our downtown area as a business owner and as a Knoxvillian eating, shopping, listening to music, performing, walking, hanging out and sharing our beautiful art spaces and festivals.
I REALLY CARE DEEPLY ABOUT MY HOMETOWN.
